TC Pets began when Sandra Castillo approached 7 time licensor Lisa Lloyd to help her bring her newly patented invention to market. Lloyd’s products have grossed over $30 million in retail sales and Castillo hoped to leverage that success and license her new patent to an existing successful company.

After discussing the product with several companies, Lloyd determined that the product had tremendous potential and decided to invest in the concept and start a new company rather than license the patent rights.  Lloyd, former Ex. VP of New Business Development for Scunci, had been considering building a company with new products for years, but had not found the right product mix. “This product is not like other inventions, it has almost limitless line extension opportunities” says Lloyd. “That makes building a company opposed to licensing the technology much more attractive!”

Lloyd has licensed the patent from Ms. Castillo and, with a small group of investors, has redesigned the product, manufactured several prototypes, established manufacturing in China, become a proud member of TIA and launched the new line of “Plush Organizers” at ToyFair 2008.
